Our "Capability"

As a business, knowledge associates (ka) has zero capability without people. The company literally can do nothing! Only people have a capability. Even then that capability depends on who the people are and whether or not they are currently available.

If you are a client or potential client, you should know;

  • If we have no people, we have no capability.
  • If we have no people with the requisite knowledge, we have no capability.
  • If we have knowledgeable people but they are fully utilised elsewhere and hence not available to you, we have no capability.
In this way we are no different to any other business. The only difference with us is we tell you.

Think about it. Is the capability of any company really fixed? Is it a constant for all time? Does it increase with every completed job?

At ka we believe:

  • A "Company" has no physical existence, therefore the "Company" is incapable of anything.
  • A company is really an association of knowledgeable people.
  • Only the people can leverage the company's time, physical, financial and knowledge resources.
  • Therefore any capability that can be advertised in a brochure is really the capability of the people.
  • Obviously then, that capability is dependent upon who those people are, and what they are doing.
  • If people join or leave ka then our capability must go up or down accordingly.
  • Because we are people, we will have more capability tomorrow than we did yesterday, simply because of what we are doing today.
  • You can be experienced or you can be young. You can't be both. Most (i.e. old) people would usually choose to be young, although they always "want to know then what I know now"! ;-).
If a certain person with a unique expertise is already fully committed on a customer assignment then we don't truly have that capability available to concurrently sell to another customer. Not without jeopardising both assignments. Regardless of what is printed on the brochure or what it says on the website, is it any wonder when companies over-commit their capabilities or sell capabilities they currently do not have available that both customer and supplier end up unhappy and disappointed?

So, to find out about the capability of our company you need to look at the capability of OurPeople.
